This Old Hip

I spent clinicals today observing in the OR - I watched a man get a new knee and a woman get a new hip. Boy, those surgeries aren't delicate! Three men wearing full body protective gear (think bomb squad apparel) are hammering, chiseling, sawing, using screwdrivers, as well as their full body weights to put the new joints in where the old ones were. It looked like quite a workout, and the surgical supply table looked like something off of a home-improvement show, except instead of building a new house, they were (re)building a new person. Take that, Norm Abram.
