happy thanksgiving

Thanksgiving dinner was a great success. I am stuffed, happy, surrounded by my family and blessings. Things I've learned from today:

--that roasting a bird (chicken, turkey, or other) breast side down doesn't look as pretty, but the meat comes out fall-off-the-bone tender.

--that cooking dinner is good enough. No need to wow them even more with lunch, too. (Although that was pretty tasty)

--whoever first decided to combine cinnamon and sugar is my hero.

--whoever first decided to sweeten roasted cacao beans with sugar, I LOVE YOU. Really.

--that it's okay to go a little overboard in the name of celebration. Just not every day.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Hope you all had as wonderful a day as I did.
